Program Description: The Bedford Hills College Program offers the women of Bedford Hills the opportunity to take college courses for credit. We offer an Associate of Arts in Social Sciences degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology or Politics and Human Rights. There are three semesters per year, Fall, Spring and Summer. In the Fall and Spring semesters, 16 – 18 courses are offered, and about 6 in the summer semester. Each year, about 175 students take classes. We also offer combined classes, with students from Marymount Manhattan College, Sarah Lawrence College, Barnard College, SUNY Purchase, and Union Theological Seminary taking classes with the Bedford students.
Degrees Offered: Associate of Arts in Social Science; Bachelor’s degree in either Sociology or Politics and Human Rights
Unique Features: Aside from the high quality of the academic program, we also have rich extra-curricular activities. We hold Crossing Borders Conferences every other year at which our students and professors and outside students and professors present on their academic and creative work.
