Program Description: Common Good Atlanta provides incarcerated people with broad, democratic access to higher education so they can develop a better understanding of both themselves and the societal forces at work around them.
Degrees Offered: College credit from Georgia State University and Bard College (Clemente Course in the Humanities).

Unique Features: As we’ve been offering courses for ten years, we now have an active alumni network who speak at universities and other events about the dignity of higher ed in prisons.

College/University/Organization Partnerships: We are a community partner that bridges six Georgia universities (Emory, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, University of Georgia, and Morehouse) with Georgia prisons
Funding: We are a 501(c)3 completely funded by private donations and grants.
Program evaluation: We foster a writing community within the prisons. Our incarcerated students publish in peer-reviewed journals, law reviews, and creative writing journals. Their work then speaks for itself.
