Current Humans of New York Series: Incarceration

Started in 2010, the project aimed to take portraits of New Yorkers along with real captions from the subjects. HONY now has over ten million followers on social media, and provides a worldwide audience with daily glimpses into the lives of strangers on the streets of New York City and around the world. Most recently, the project featured stories of currently incarcerated people from five different federal prisons across the Northeast–including Manhattan and Brooklyn. Here’s a peak:
