Program Description:The Prison Education Program (PEP) offers face to face instruction to students at Centinela and Calipatria State Prison students. Starting in the Fall 16 semester, the program has since served 350 student-inmates and serves 216 students per semester on average. Students in the PEP are put on a pathway towards an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) in Psychology or Sociology respectively. Currently students take 3-4 classes on average as the goal is to provide students with a full-time college experience. Students that begun the program in Fall 16 are on track to graduate in Fall 2019.

Unique Features:The IVC PEP is currently offering 28 courses between both prisons. Since 2016 89 courses have been offered to 350 students and have produced a 93% success rate.
