Program Description:THEI funds and coordinates on-site degree-bearing college programs to incarcerated individuals in Tennessee prisons, leading to Associate’s degrees in Business Administration and Political Science.

Unique Features:We are one of the few programs with internet access. Our students at Turney Center matriculate in both on-site and online courses. Also, we are piloting a College Prep program this summer that we are excited about!

Correctional Facilities Served:We have a contract with Tennessee Department of Correction and currently operate programs at Turney Center Industrial Complex and Northwest Correctional Complex.

Funding:“‹We have a diverse portfolio of funding streams. We receive funding from the state of Tennessee as well as through philanthropic organizations and individual donors. Our students also contribute to their own educations, paying in $75 per year (an amount that they designated).
